BRAND NEW SONG “By The Deadline”

I’m featured on the 4th installment of “Honorable Mention” a compilation series produced by Big Jess of Unknown Prophets.

I wrote “By The Deadline” as a tribute to my Uncle Bill (Billy). He passed away in November of 2011. He was the first of my 11 great uncles and aunts to pass away. The reason I wrote this song was because you never know when mother nature/god/life/etc is going to say it’s time to give up on your dream. That happened to Billy well before I was born. But he also never seemed to upset about it. Which might be naive for me to say. But he always was witty and in good spirits. As someone living his dream I am very aware that I am very fortunate. I don’t take the time I have in this game for granted. Make the most of your talent and inspire those around you to do the same.

About

Ecid is a kamikaze visionary: an artist with an all or nothing approach to every aspect of his art and life. Ambitious almost to a fault with an “us against them” DIY mentality, Ecid has self-booked, self released, and self-made his own movement. Ecid doesn’t try to sell you on any one way of life, he only sells you on the idea that you can live however you want. A Minneapolis native and a participant in the Twin Cities hip hop scene since 2003, all three of Ecid’s most recent releases have charted on the College Music Journal’s Hip Hop Top 40 chart. Collaborating with the likes of Eyedea, Awol One, and Kristoff Krane along the way, his smashing new album, Werewolf Hologram, is destined to make even bigger waves.
